IOS Interchangable Optics System - The red dot system is designed to allow the shooter to effortlessly switch back and forth from iron sights to a red dot and back again. With minimal tools you can slide off the rear sight and slide on a red dot. Footprint options:
Sight tracker barrel - The sight tracker or "island" barrel is a popular upgrade for the competition shooter using iron sights. This upgrade allows the front sight to be installed on the barrel instead of the slide, allowing the shooter to track the front sight easier.
Slide ports and second ported bull barrel - This option will add a second ported bull barrel (not applicable to sight tracker guns) as well as the corresponding slide cuts, to allow the barrel porting to function properly.
Color Package 2 - This option gives you the ability to add a variety of colors to the aluminum trigger and magwell to further customize your pistol.
Aluminum grip color - If you are having a pistol with an aluminum grip built, this give you the chance to make your pistol stand out with an anodizing color of your choice.

First off let me say this, the work that they have done on this is the highest level of craftsmanship on a pistol I have ever seen! It’s incredible! The fit, finish, action, reset, break…everything is amazing. The amount of work these guys do and put into these really comes from there passion you can tell. I would say between this atlas and svi, there top 3!
I purchased a second HCG COBRA 1911 pistol with a ported barrel based on the quality and performance of my first HCG COBRA 1911 with a standard, non-ported barrel. The COBRA's that Ben Hayes builds at HCG are phenomenal. The second COBRA with the ported barrel shoots even softer than the non-ported barrel, with lowered felt recoil, which enables me to stay on target for faster follow up shots. Both of my HCG COBRA 1911 style firearms are extremely accurate, and have not had any malfunctions or performance issues. Highly recommend the COBRA's from Ben Hayes at Hayes Custom Guns.
I was really happy Hayes introduced this gun with the IOS system as well as the option to have both a ported and non-ported barrel. I shoot various divisions in 3-gun and USPSA and this guy allows me to do them all with one gun! Most importantly, everything about the gun is truly flawless. I've been running it for a couple months now and haven't had a single malfunction regardless of barrel or ammo. Ben is truly a wizard and genius when it comes to this style of pistol. I can't imagine a better option for the price, and I've shot many different HC 1911s. Highly, HIGHLY recommend!!!
There I thought my Atlas Erebus had the best slide to frame fitment out of my 2011, the Cobra surpassed the Erebus: it is even smoother. The Cobra shoots well and soft, it is comparable to a an Atlas Artemis or Nighthawk Customs TRS Comp. The Erebus is only a tiny bit softer shooting.
I am a competitive shooter and have owned CZ's, Dan Wesson's, Wilson Combat's, Sig Sauers, and Staccato's, but there is nothing on the market that is as smooth as the HCG COBRA. The HCG COBRA is so good, that I sold my Staccato's, Wilson Combat, CZ, and Dan Wesson and have a second COBRA on order. The weight with the steel grips is over 49oz which helps with recoil, muzzle control, and accuracy. Ben Hayes and the crew know how to build 2011's with incredible fit, top performance, and fantastic accuracy. I have spoken with Ben Hayes, and others at HCG, and they are very customer focused regarding questions and very quality focused regarding their custom firearms. Can't say enough good things about Ben Hayes and the HCG crew. Looking forward to receiving my second COBRA!!!

Customer service is top notch, Hayes customs knowledge of 2011 pistols is truly remarkable. Gun has ran great so far even when very dirty. Cleaning between stages is a breeze. Would recommend this pistol to anyone looking to shoot competitively.
