What is a slide guide?
A slide guide is a method of tightening the slide/frame fit using set screws that are threaded through the dust cover. Slack in the slide/frame fit is reduced by adjusting the screws to limit both horizontal and vertical movement of the slide in lock-up. This method was originally used by bulleye shooters to make their post-war pistols more accurate, and works very well in this application as well.
**NOTE** the slide guide modification can only be done on pistols with a full length dust cover.
